The Little Boy Story ReviewThe Little Boy Story is not a fairy tale for children with happy endings and underlying morals to live by. It is a story about our world, and the people that make it up. The novel starts off with an innocent narration of a young boy trying to find himself in a world he doesn't understand. (The author has already mentioned that this part of the story was based on his own life). But the best part of the story comes after, when forty pages into the novel, the story line changes, and the reader is propelled into another story they probably didn't expect. The main character, Michael Wallen, is almost murdered by a Muslim man who calls himself Giovanni. As the story progresses, Michael Wallen is faced with countless obstacles that test his loyalty and show his true character. The story is truly about people, and the choices they choose to ensure their own survival. It shows Muslim characters in a different light and is set in the Middle East, and has contemporary relevance because its perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is being told from a Muslim perspective Unlike many stories of good and evil, there is no distinction in this novel. There are just people, and as a reader, you are forced to choose a side.
This book shows people as they are and tries to convey a sense of realism to the characters. Not all the motives are fully explained, and not all the character-facets are completely revealed.
