Still Learning to Read: Teaching Students in Grades 3-6 ReviewWhat a great book! This book by Sibberson and Szymusiak spells out what goals we, as teachers, should have for our students of any age. It makes sense. And that is the point of the entire book- giving our students strategies to make whatever they read make sense. When this is not the case, the book outlines how to equip our kids with questions to ask themselves to figure out where and why they got stuck and what they need to do in order for their reading to be meaningful. They will leave our classrooms as readers who know themselves.
There is also a very useful appendix with interview forms as well as planning forms.
